Chrissie McLaughlin
Travelling and nature motivate and inspire my artwork. The compositions and methods usually start with painting Plein Air. I spend a lot of time outdoors in the Daintree National Park and at my studio in Cape Tribulation.
I am having fun creating my paint from Ochers found locally. My process starts with Plein Air painting in watercolour, then with the Ocher & pure pigments. Finding purity & layering creates a depth and clarity of colour that best interprets my work's visual idea.
I have a custom print business for interior design projects and enjoy original private commissions & commercial works in all mediums. In 2020 & 2021, working on two Netflix productions, creating their painting artworks for a movie and TV series shot locally. My online art business is Art in Transit, representing, curating and selling the best North Queensland Artists' sculpture & original and refined art print artworks.
I am a Port Douglas Art Gallery member. Currently, I am the President of Port Douglas Artists Inc. has been an active member since 2018.
