Emily Oorthuysen

Within my own art I try to invoke emotions and feelings from my audience. I try to do this in my primary medium being graphite pencil on paper but dabbling in other mediums including acrylic and oil-based paints, coloured pencils, watercolours and many more. Using these I capture true emotions or attempt to make the audience think and have freedom in interpretation, whether it be shown in a person's realistic portrait, landscape art or even images of abandoned cars or buildings.

Being born in Mackay in 2004 and moving to Mossman in the far north in 2016, this move and large transition changed me and accompanying my struggle to fit in, I started to do art. This then blossomed into the raging passion I have today.
